All about Katie...
Katie is a presenter, actor & musical theatre performer working in the Gloucestershire area.
From a young age, Katie always had a passion for performing. She started her training at the age of 3, learning ballet at the Wells School of Dancing in Essex, under it's founder Sarah Wells FISTD. Throughout her time at the school, she also took classes in Modern and Jazz dance, alongside singing and acting classes with Westend performer Cara Brightiff. Katie took part in multiple productions at the Towngate Theatre in Basildon with Wells and volunteered as a class assistant until leaving the school to attend university.
Throughout her education, Katie seized every opportunity to get on stage, from playing Mary in a Nativity at the age of 6, to performing in the PUSH Physical Theatre Festival at the BRIT School. At Shenfield High School, she was a member of the Gifted and Talented programme as well as the Performing Arts Academy. Here, she developed her technique while working towards Distinction* in BTEC Performing Arts and applied her training to the countless plays and musicals she starred in, including Anything Goes (Reno Sweeney), The Lion King (Timon) and Fame (Serena Katz).
In September 2021, Katie moved to Gloucester to work towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performing Arts at the University of Gloucestershire. Since enrolling here, she has had the opportunity to learn from talented performers and academics with experience across all areas of the arts sector. Alongside this, Katie has performed in multiple UoG productions at The Playhouse Theatre in Cheltenham, including an adaptation by Kate Littlewood of Federico Garcia Lorca's Yerma (as Yerma), a number of original musicals including 'The Vampyre', 'The Gemini Tree' and 'Backstage' and has sung at The Everyman Theatre.
In recent years, Katie has delved more into the world of screen, taking on a range of acting and presenting roles in student and short films. During work on the Royal Television Society Award Nominated production, Reduce, Reuse, Revamp, she discovered an enthusiasm for presenting which she has since pursued further. In 2024, Katie has presented a piece at the All On One Bench Conference for global restaurant chain Wagamama, has taken over the Young People's Community Link Show at Gloucester FM and is currently working with Cancer Research UK, hosting their charity events in multiple counties across the country.
